Here’s your chance… and I know how you’ve always wanted it… to decide my future for me. Or at least to weigh in and give me your opinion, or weigh in by giving me your opinion…whatever, I’m not finished with my coffee yet and I’m reading about the Comparative Method in Political Science, so that should tell you where my brain is.
Here is the question.
What should I aim for after graduating college?
1. Law school
2. Graduate school
(sub question, in a) Political Science, b) Public Policy, c) International Studies, d) Sociology, e) Women’s Studies)
3. Apply to the Peace Corps
4. Apply to Teach for America
5. Attempt to find some other kind of job in the “real world.”

you need to specify where these options would take place………. also put me down for a NEGATIVE on the peace corps and any other option that would take you more than a hop skip and a jump away from babysitting my children……

I obviously vote for something law-related (ps new law blog coming soon!). I know UMaine has a dual JD-and-Public-Policy policy degree. Its not by any means the best in the country, but its something. I know there are others out there. I would also check out the Fletcher School (Tufts? I think) and you can get your MA in IR and JD (I think you actually get your JD at Harvard…)
Anyway, do what you want. I would say though, that law school is something pretty final, so if a JD/dual-degree program is for you, it should be last. I can totally see you doing Peace Corps/Teach for America THEN going to grad school.
