1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A SECOND HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
If I actually owned, say, my dream house in some remote little South Bay community with a view of the Pacific, I think I’d have to say I’d build a cabin in the backwoods of North Carolina – not even in the backwoods, just an un-developed, un-razed area where there are trees everywhere and it constantly smells like forest. — I think that might be my first choice for a house at this point.

2. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLES OF CLOTHING?
Yoga pants or some variation of the sort, cute pajama pants and Old Navy Tank Tops. For school I’m all about tank-tops, Target T-Shirts, and jeans. It’s how awesome I am. Totally stylin’.

3. THE LAST CDs YOU BOUGHT?
Actually, Dave Matthews Band: Best Of What’s Around (the Best of Double CD)

4. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
Too damned early.

5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE?
The blender. I can make smoothies and milkshakes. So that I can pretend I’m healthy and then counteract it by drinking nineteen pounds of lard directly from a small cup.

6. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I play guitar, but I’d love to play electric – just so that I could achieve my dream of being better than SRV. (It will happen, it will) I’d also like to be able to jam on the piano.

7. FAVORITE COLOR?
For a long time it was yellow. Now it’s pink and brown. I’m thinking I’m slowly moving into Northern African color schemes, so we’ll see what happens when we move this summer.

8. WHICH VEHICLE DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR, MOTORCYCLE, OR SUV?
I prefer a bike, public transportation or driving my New Balances. If I had a car, I’d want it to be electric, or at least a hybrid. No, electric.

9. DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE AFTERLIFE?
I do. I believe in the end of “The Last Battle” by C.S. Lewis.

10. FAVORITE CHILDREN’S BOOK?
When I was a child: A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
Now that I am an adult: Pippi Longstocking and Anne of Green Gables.

11. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
I adore all of them equally, it’s the allergies and colds and etc. that come along with them. Truthfully, if my body with its lack of immune system could stand to be outside all the time, it would be. In the rain, in the mud, in the mountains, in the flowers, in the grass. The sun, the clouds. I love all of it. But, of course, anything with thunderstorms which enable me to find cute boys to cuddle with are a definite plus.

12. IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?
I have many in the works. Hopefully this answer will change this summer.

13. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I’d like to be invisible. I think it would cover everything. You could sneak onto airplanes and get anywhere you want, you could be anywhere, listen to any conversation…

14. CAN YOU JUGGLE?
It was a requirement in order to graduate from my High School. I never learned, and I graduated anyway. But I am not doing so well, so maybe I should have paid attention to the lessons.

15. ONE PERSON/PEOPLE FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO?
It’s a tie between my grandfather and my dead best friend. I would want to know if my grandfather is proud of me, and if he would recognize me. I’d want him to call me his princess. I would want my dead best friend to know that I know what she meant, and no matter how many years pass, I’ll never feel any less close to her than I ever have.

16. WHAT IS UNDER YOUR BED?
Absolutely nothing. Not only am I a neat freak, but I have no bed frame so my mattresses sit directly on the floor.

17. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DAY?
I really do adore Fridays. I get to spend time with my best friend, and people aren’t so eager to go home and go to sleep at night. Saturdays hold too much pressure to get things done before Sunday, but on Friday it’s all there in front of you, just waiting to happen. I love the possibility of Friday.

18. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?
I got food poisoning from fake sushi back home, so I can no longer eat it. I am a hamburger fanatic. I judge restaurants based on how good their hamburgers are. If you barbecue for me, I will love you forever. That is just one of the many reasons why I adore my brother in law. Other than the fact that he took my sister off my hands…

19. FROM THE PEOPLE WHO NORMALLY READ YOUR BLOG, WHO IS THE MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND FIRST?
This does not really apply, but I would love it if you would send me your answers to this, either as a comment to this post or in an email to pinkmafia@nc.rr.com. I won’t even share your answers if you don’t want me to, so you can be really honest.

20. ON WHICH BLOG DID YOU FIND THIS MEME?
All of these questions that do not apply. I believe I found it through a google search for “avoiding writing a 22 page paper.”

21. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLOWER?
Lillies. Not Calla Lillies (although those are beautiful) but plain, any old kind of lillies. I love the symbolism – and so, of course, there are lotuses as well. Lillies and lotuses = perfection.

23. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
Wine.

24. DESCRIBE YOUR PJS.
It depends on how I’m feeling. My current favorites are my red and blue striped little girl pajama pants with the heart patch on the back pocket, and a tanktop. Always, always a tanktop.

25. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BREAKFAST?
Banana chocolate chip pancakes.

26. DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB?
As my job is student and researcher…it really depends on whether or not I am able to concentrate to do the things I have to do. I despise the bureaucratic aspect of it all, I wish they would just let me go to school and learn, and not fill out all these forms with all these deadlines that interfere.

27. WHAT IS YOUR DREAM JOB?
When I am old and have retired from being an immigration lawyer, or from domestic violence intervention, or whatever it is I end up doing…I’d like to run a used bookstore in a little college town, where I get to know everyone who comes in, and I keep books under the counter that I know my customers will love. Story hours would be nice, too. I’d like it if my mom sat in a rocking chair in the kid’s section every once in awhile and read stories to little kids. I think that would be a great thing to do with your life after all the world saving…the quiet connection world saving that you don’t even recognize.

The amount of times a book has saved my life…I cannot even count.

28. WHAT AGE DO YOU PLAN TO RETIRE?
This is an absurd question. Retire from what?

29. WHERE DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
I don’t have either. I consider my best friend my significant other and we met on-line.

30. SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO THAT YOU HAVE NEVER DONE BEFORE.
Spend a week lying on the beach at the ocean without worrying about a single thing. Visit New York and Boston and take photos. Figure out what it all means.
